Krav Maga’s Beginnings
As most people are aware, here are various dangers in commuting and travelling in the metropolis. This, among other factors, has contributed to the popularity of self-defense training and martial arts. One of these is Krav Maga: a system of martial arts rising in popularity among instructors and amateur enthusiasts. It has spread across fields of practice, from its beginnings in law enforcement to civilian self-defense training. And it has spread across the world, from its origins in Israel. Now Krav Maga has also reached the Manila.
Krav Maga was developed by Imre “Imi” Lichtenfeld. His father, Samuel, served as a police officer and Chief Detective Inspector. He also taught lessons in self-defense. As a result of his brushes with riots in his youth, Lichtenfeld began to devise methods of self-defense which can be applied in similarly threatening circumstances. Later in his life, Lichtenfeld served Chief Instructor of Physical Training of the Israel Defense Forces, and in his career as such he refined his system of self-defense, which eventually became known as Krav Maga. When he retired from active service, he focused his efforts on further developing Krav Maga. He formed the systems in such a way as to benefit ordinary civilians who may face potentially dangerous situations in ordinary, everyday settings.
In everyday life across the world, potential dangers abound that may bring harm to an individual. Self-defense training may offer a means to protect oneself from assault. Krav Maga is one of many systems that offer training in self-defense. There are schools and centers that provide lessons in Krav Maga, located across the world, and in Manila. Interested individuals may want to know more about the practice. They may contact people who are directly involved for question, and they may also look for information in the Internet.
