Bull Satin

The Hunter
He stepped out of the shadows. A slight smile on his face. Nobody around to notice. That was how Jim liked it. He had just finished a “job.” Jim was a professional hunter. He worked mostly at night. His prey was human. Jim was a professional assassin.
He was born to hunt. Jim was born to an upper-middle class family in New York city. His childhood was ordinary enough. He as an average student in school, nothing to make him stand out from a crowd. His father worked as an graphic designer for a well-established firm. His mother was an elementary school teacher. Jim had no siblings. He was used to being alone much of time.
Jim’s father would take the family to a rural retreats. His father would hunt for small game, often taking Jim with him, Jim liked the way his father hunted. That is how he learned the art of “stealth”, and to be very “quite” when pursuing your prey. The stealthier and quiter you were would produce more game. Although they hunted for recreation, Jim’s mother had many tasty recipes for wild-game. Jim’s father never shot game that they would not use for food. That was his hard-clad rule.
At age twenty-five Jim’s parents had been killed in an automobile accident.
An 18-wheeler had gotten out of control, crossed the center line, and that ended Jim’s normal life.
Jim still liked to hunt in the country. While in the city he would go to a local shooting range and practice. He was an excellent shot with a rifle. Still in the intermediate stage with a pistol. Jim practiced and practiced with his “glock .40cal.” until he could consistently lay 10 or so shots in the target’s bull’s-eye at twenty-five paces.
It was during this time he was first approached to further test his skills.
A man heavy-set, with a grayish receding hairline said to Jim, “you shoot very well, what do you do for a job,” Jim replied “I work for the city.” The stranger asked “not to be nosy, but do they pay well and do you like your job?” Jim had never given it much thought, his job was kinda dull, but it provided with enough money to live a good enough life. The stranger smiled “would you be interested in other employment” “what kind of employment Jim replied.” “Oh! Its work that is not suited for everybody”. ” It carries with it a sizeable paycheck.” “Actually there is no paycheck at all, it is all non-taxable cash”. “Lot of benefits. Not the traditional benefits. They include meeting new people, lot of travel and doing something you might really enjoy. You would be able to use your hunting skills”. Jim thought this stranger must be crazy. Who would not jump at a chance for a job like that. Jim smiled “I might be very interested.” The stranger smiled.
“Meet me for dinner this evening and we can discuss the details.” “Where at”, Jim questionably asked” The balding man replied “you set the place”, and with that he departed.
That was Jim’s first encounter with his new employer the “Mossad”.
The Mossad is the worlds least understood and most feared organization in the world. They are known all over the world. Although they seldom recruit outside their own borders, they are always open to people with skills that can fulfill their objectives. The Mossad agents must be able to be very clandestine, with steady nerves and be willing to give all for the organization. Jim already filled most of their needs, Jim was very average in height and weight, light brown hair and brown eyes. He displayed his ability to “lay down the fire” at close and distant ranges with his pistol. It was yet to be determined if Jim could be brought around to the Mossad’s way of thinking!
They met for dinner as planned. The stranger was very cautious picking his words carefully. Jim learned the stranger’s name was Amit (friend in Hebrew, he explained). Jim thought that was an unusual name for an American. Then it struck him. Amit spoke with a slight mid-east accent. Jim politely asked “Amit, where are you from?”, the stranger thought and then replied “I hail from a small free state in the mid-east”, Jim pondered for a moment, and then he knew where the stranger was from. “What brings you to America?” Jim asked. Amit then went on to give a brief history of his country. How and why it was founded. They were a small, but proud country with a lot of history. Jim found out their people had lived nomadic lives throughout history. The tribes wanted to be able to settle in one place an establish roots. They settled in an abandoned wasteland and started to build permanent structures. The land was worked and with modern methods of irrigation the fields became fertile. Once the world noticed, trouble began for their nation. Their nation was strategically located between the “Free-world” and the biggest threat to the “Free-world”, the Soviet Union.
Jim listened with fascination. The stranger was very polished in his demeanor and speech. Articulating the problems his country faced daily. The need for an organization that could wander freely around the world without attracting attention to themselves or their country.
Jim wondered what the man could possibly see in him that would help his country. He quickly found out what Amit had in mind! Amit told Jim the organization had members in most of the countries in the world. They were from average citizens to upper crust people. All had one thing in common.
They were unknown to the world as being members of the clandestine organization the “Mossad.”
Jim had to get a “passport”. Amit told him he would have several passports made when he arrived at his first destination. Jim still did not know why the Mossad was interested in him personally. He soon learned.
When he arrived he was transported to a bunker located in a desert area. Later he would find out this was the brain headquarters. Jim was not a field agent, but rather he would be trained. The Mossad would break down whatever demeanor he had now and rebuild it to their needs.
Jim learned quickly. Self-defense, language skills, social graces and on and on. The training started out with the basics, soon escalating towards the day he would be able to fend for himself as a polished agent.
Jim enjoyed the training. Jim’s training provided him with a sense of well-being. After about a year had gone bye, his mentor and friend Amit told him he was a good student. Almost ready to tackle his first assignment. During Jim was cautioned about forming relationships. Mossad did not want their agents to have loose strings. Amit said he could find something in “local hangouts” to readily fulfill his human needs. He said “under no circumstances form bonds with people.” Amit continued “it is better that way, it would not be so hard to say good-bye” Jim understood, or though he thought!
His first assignment: travel to a rogue nation. Once there Jim would seek out and destroy the leader of rogue organization. Sounded like a tough assignment for a new agent. Amit assured Jim, although somewhat difficult he had the skills to perform very well.
Jim boarded his plane at their countries airport “Ben Guion” International.
Jim was instructed not to go through the normal security system. Jim carried the tools of his trade, and he wondered how he would get through security. “Ben Guion” had the most up to date security system in the world.
Amit told Jim to go to the gate at which his flight was departing from. All he had to do was mention Amit’s name. Jim did this and was immediately escorted to not only his plane, but to his seat as well.
Wow! First class reservations had been made in advance for him. Jim thought “what an organization.” “First class all the way.”
Jim was instructed to go to “Boquet” hotel located just near the Tehran Imam Khomaini International Airport. Again he was instructed to tell the hotel clerk “Amit”. Again worked like a charm. Jim was shown his luxury suite. Luxury enough to be comfortable, but not luxurious enough to draw unwanted attention. First assignment. Would I be able to really shoot a human being? He wondered about that in training, but Amit assured him these people were not really human! They were considered less that dogs. They were enemies of the state. The would help destroy his adopted country if left to their own devices.
The plan: observe the subject’s activity for several days to establish his habits. Like anybody, human nature is worldwide.
Jim located the residence of Johad. Didn’t look like he could harm a fly. Jim knew better. Before leaving on this assignment Jim had studied Johad’s dossier for over a week. This guy had a “terrorists rap sheet” that would make Osama Bin laden look like a boy scout. Johad looked like just a normal mid-easterner. Turban and all. Jim observed his activities from afar. Jim had to find a suitable “kill-site.” Jim made notes of Johad’s daily routine. 7:00pm Johad frequented a tea shop, had two cups of tea and left. He always left alone. He had to pass by a dark alleyway at about 8:00. It seemed to Jim that would be a perfect place for him to do his “job”. Johad always traveled alone at night. That was a blessing for the new Mossad agent. There would be no witnesses for his first job. Jim’s employers wanted it that way. No muss or fuss.
Jim knew is he was ever caught plying his trade, he was to immediately swallow the two blue capsules he carried in the hem of his “work clothes.”
His killing method: Two bullets to the heart, check the “corpse”, then one close shot to the forehead for good measure. The head shot was not a “coup da grace.” This was the technique of the organization.
The night arrived to do the “deed”. Jim dressed in clothes that would not draw attention to him, but were presentable enough to board his flight. Jim was to catch his flight 1 hour after his work was complete. The agents did not hang around long enough to answer any questions.
Jim now packed and ready to travel. He checked out of his hotel. The clerk thanked him and wished him well. The way he said it made Jim wonder if the clerk knew the real reason Jim was there. Seemed friendly enough. Jim remembered the organization had “snitches” around the world. Had to for their own safety.
On schedule Johad left the teashop and started towards the alley. Jim lay in the shadows. When Johad neared, Jim gave a short whistle, Johad peered and Jim shot. The two shots landed directly into the terrorist’s heart. He fell immediately to the pavement. Motionless Jim approached and left his mark into Johad’s forehead. Funny Jim thought that felt good. I have rid the world of trash. People who would hurt innocent people in the name of their religion. Always wanting to start “religious wars.” What way was that to gain converts? Although the terror groups never seemed to have problems recruiting people. Jim felt sorry for new recruits. The “dim” or over zealous ones were brainwashed and used as “suicide-bombs.” How sickening was that thought Jim!
The years passed and passed.
Jim was one of the experts in the field of extermination of terrorists. Of course, he could not be “officially commended” his successes. Those deeds were know to only a few. His friend and mentor Amit had rose to the top of the organization. Jim’s work became well known in the dark world of assassins. Jim had no family and therefore no roots. He derived his pleasure by frequenting hot nightspots and clubs. Single women abounded in these spots. Jim had no trouble with his “love life.” He used the women for his own pleasure and then he was gone.
Suddenly one night it happened:
Jim was prowling some upscale lounges. Lot of women on the “make” he thought. Most were pretty. One stood out like no other. Beautiful, tall and slender and eyes as blue as the sky. Wow! Would I like to bed her. Probably not a chance he thought! She kept looking his way with a demure smile. Well maybe she will let me at least buy her a drink. Jim peered around. The lady didn’t appear to be with anyone in particular. He smiled back at her, and asked the bartender what the lady was drinking? She likes scotch on the rocks. Well she also has refined tastes. Jim asked the bartender to send the lady over a scotch on the rocks.
After her drink was delivered she turned to Jim and nodded thankfully.
What grace she has. Shortly Jim went to where she was sitting and asked if he could be seated. “Why not join me” she replied.
They talked and talked until closing time. Jim asked her what she did professionally. “Oh! Nothing important, I’m just a government employee”
“you know, work hard with little or no rewards.” Jim accepted that. She then asked Jim what he did. “Oh! I also work for the government” “What is your specialty she asked.” Jim responded “nothing special, all I do is kill time” he laughed slightly. “sounds like a job I could get to like very much.” Jim was getting slightly uncomfortable with the conversation about their work. He directed it in another direction.
The evening ended. Jim thought it to early to ask her to be intimate. Instead he said “will you be here tomorrow evening” “Why yes.” she replied. “Could we meet here and talk some more?’ “that will be fine” she responded!
Jim smiled and caught a cab to his hotel. He quickly showered, went to bed and almost immediately fell into a deep slumber. Morning sun shone through the large picture window. Jim slowly arose. First a cup of coffee was in order. His ritual consisted of coffee first, followed by a shave then a shower, Jim was not rushed to go to work. He only worked when the “call came.” The calls came further and further apart. He was well known now by all the terrorist groups. It was difficult for the organization to find an assignment for him. Jim didn’t mind. As he matured he liked the extra time to pursue some of his hobbies. Jim liked to read, do some light painting and to just plain relax.
Jim dressed, left his room and hailed a taxi. He soon arrived at his meeting place. The lounge like most had their lights dimmed. There was soft music in the background. Jim thought what a fitting place to “put the make” on what he hoped would be his latest “conquest.” About an hour later she appeared. Wow! Did she look lively tonight. Beautiful blue dress, matched her eyes. She really did justice to the dress. He caught her eye. She lumbered to his table, sat and said “how are you this evening?” “I feel great,” with that he ordered their drinks. He hoped that he would get “lucky” with her tonight. After several hours talking and listening to the soft music both were “mellow.” During the conversation she wanted to know what his plans were after they left the club. Jim said “nothing planned.” She mused “would you like to come to my place for a nightcap.”
Jim felt his pulse quicken! I’d love too, he said.
The evening went bye quickly and soon it was time for them to leave.
Outside the club Jim hailed a taxi. She gave the taxi driver the address. Jim thought it was strange. The address belonged to a prominent hotel. She then told Jim she was on a business trip and would soon be leaving. Jim wondered if that was the truth of maybe she was just a bored wife on the prowl. Classy lady anyway. What the hell did it matter anyhow.
They arrived at the hotel and made their way to her suite,
She poured them scotch on the rocks. She turned on some music. Soft bedroom stuff Jim thought. His usual gigs went quite differently he thought. Just went to their place, banged them and kissed them goodbye. No “will call you later.” most realized it was just a one night stand. Just a good roll in the hay. She was different. This lady is refined. If she was a government employee as she had said, she must of held some sort of high position. Suite was very nice with a stocked refrigerator.
After much conversation she asked “would you like to spend the night,” Jim was not surprised but acted so. This lady must realize he was not new to the game. “I can’t think of anything I would like to do better,” he responded.
Good was her reply.
She pointed towards the door leading to the bedroom. “Go in there and make yourself at home while I freshen up a little.” He made his way into the room. What a place. A king-size bed with satin sheets. He thought, bet she can really slid on these sheets. He quickly undressed. He was getting aroused listening to the water running. Suddenly the water ceased. Oh! He thought “heaven is near.”
Jim she called softly, are you in bed. “Yes” he responded. “Good, now close your eyes and promise not to open them until I tell you to” “Since you have been so good to me I have a special treat for you.” Jim could feel his pulse getting faster and faster. This woman knew her business he thought.
He could hear her feet ever so slightly on the carpeted floor. He kept his promise. His eyes were shut. She also kept her promise.
Two in the head and one to the chest. Blood spattered everywhere. In silence she packed her “work tool” picked up her luggage and left the suite.
If Jim had not kept his promise he would have saw she was fully clothed and ready to leave. Now on the street she hailed a taxi and sped to JFK airport. Destination “Top Secret”.
“The hunter was so good at his profession that he became the hunted!”
