A NASCAR Drivers’ Workout
We are at a fitness and overall well being crisis in this country. Of this I have no question. My name is Russ Bohaty. I have decades of experience in training our military and professional athletes in not only peak physical fitness, but peak performance. Currently, I train Kasey Khane, NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion, his entire Kasey Kahne Racing Team, as well as Sprint car Champions Joey Saldana and Travis Rilat. So I have more than some experience in the field training men who have uncommon demands and requirements for their fitness results.
With that background, I repeat again, we have a problem. At no time in our history have their been more products, health clubs, supplements, and informational resources devoted to health and fitness, yet nationally our obesity rate among children is at an all time sky high level. The levels of early onset diabetes, heart disease and cancer also shows no signs of lessening. All the while, the often ignored pillar of mental well being continues to suffer. Recent statistics show that our overall job dissatisfaction is 20% greater then it was two decades ago. The amount of people on anti-anxiety and and anti-depression medications has never been higher either. I am not a PHD or any of that, but when there is that much attention paid by so many elements of society to health and well being, and we are getting less fit, it is time for a different approach.
In my work with the pro race elite like Kasey and Joey, I couldn’t help but feel that many people in everyday life would benefit from the very same physical and mental exercises that help these guys take on danger and beat it every day. These guys are amazing athletes. The stamina, focus, strength and overall health they possess would be a fantastic gift and upgrade into the lives of so many. So that is where it began.
My idea is simple: to incorporate the workout systems I tailor to my clients so you and I can have them all in one place and achieve the same benefits. Beyond that I wanted to share simple motivation and mental health rules of thumb that I share with my professional racers. Two things that will stand out as different in my Racer’s workout: simplicity and a mindful eye on your mental wellness at all times. Whether you are NASCAR fan, a fan of the other pro racing circuits, a racer yourself or just a person who wants to attain their goals and dreams in life, I think I’ll have something worth sharing. I intend for this workout to be like no other out there.
